About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

Rockhampton as the principal service centre provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities.  In addition, there is a Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs teams, as well as primary health, community, and private sector providers to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.

About the role:

  • Provide specialised clinical expertise and/or skill sets to support the MHAODS to deliver high quality clinical services and leadership to achieve better health outcomes for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years, consistent with the headspace model.
  • Work across service boundaries between Child and Youth and Adult Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs, decreasing transitional service gaps.
  • Improve timely access to multidisciplinary youth mental health and alcohol and other drugs treatment and care for adolescents and young people aged 12-25 years, consistent with the headspace model and a no wrong door policy.
  • Strengthen clinical pathways to ensure seamless and streamlined transition between headspace and Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Service.
  • To establish a collaborative pathway between headspace and Central Queensland Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drugs clinicians to deliver effective, brief interventions to clients.

About you:

Hold qualifications and registration with the appropriate registration authority to practice in any of the following:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Registered Nurse 

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $82,105 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
