Emerald Nursing Resource Unit supports various facilities across the Central Highlands including Emerald, Springsure, Blackwater, and Woorabinda by backfilling periods of leave or shortages. As the Enrolled Nurse, provide direct and indirect evidence-based patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, using contemporary nursing theory and practice within the nursing teams of Central Highlands hospitals and facilities.

The role includes live-in accommodation if not residing in the town deployed to.

About us:

Emerald Hospital is a 32-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across emergency, acute care, perioperative services, maternity, infusion services, HITH, child heath, mental health, palliative care, community and primary care.

Blackwater MPHS is a busy rural 16 bed facility incorporating 4 aged care beds, providing acute inpatient, accident and emergency, pharmacy, outpatient and urgent radiology services to the community.

Springsure MPHS provides Springsure and surrounding community with integrated health services across a range of speciality areas.

Woorabinda MPHS is a 28-bed facility with 63 staff located 175km west from Rockhampton Hospital.

About the role:

Emerald Nursing Resource Unit (ENRU) has a permanent position for an Enrolled Nurse who will be allocated to different facilities to backfill leave across the hospitals/facilities within the Central Highlands (Emerald, Springsure, Blackwater and Woorabinda) and live in supplied accommodation if they are not working in the town which is their normal place of residence.

About you:

  • Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Experience in Emergency department and Aged Care is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrates sound evidence-based clinical skills for an Enrolled Nurse and knowledge in area of practice and setting working within the scope of practice for an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to change.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with other staff, patients and carers.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $86,259 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.92 - $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
