About us:

Emerald Hospital, located 300 km west of Queensland's coast, serves a community of around 28,000 residents, including 15,000 in Emerald. The 32-bed facility features two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering emergency, acute, maternity, perioperative, mental health, palliative, child health, infusion, HITH, and primary care services. Nearby, three smaller Multi-Purpose Health Services (MPHS) operate in Blackwater, Springsure, and Woorabinda, along with two primary care centers at Gemfields and Capella. Blackwater MPHS is a busy 16-bed rural facility providing acute, aged care, emergency, outpatient, and radiology services. Springsure supports local mining and agriculture, offering integrated health services. Woorabinda MPHS is a 28-bed service providing emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and residential aged care 175 km west of Rockhampton.

About the role:

The primary purpose of the position is to advocate for and provide advice to the Central Highlands Unit across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service on contemporary quality, safety, and risk management practices to meet the business unit's strategic and operational objectives, CQ Health Quality, Safety and Risk strategic priorities and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) EQuIPNational Standards.

About you:

Nurse Grade 6 (1)

  • Mandatory qualifications: Registered Nurse qualification with a current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

AO6

  • While not mandatory, a relevant clinical qualification and experience or significant experience in a similar position in a clinical environment would be well regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $74,161 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $65.56 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
