About us:

Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Emerald Hospital supports services at the Capella Primary Health Clinic and the Gemfields Primary Health Clinic.

Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy1 is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.

About the role:

To provide timely, high level, quality, confidential administrative support service to the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) as required. These positions are appointed to CQHHS and to meet requirements the positions may be required to cover multiple departments. Shift times outside of core business hours may be required as per operational needs.  

About you:

  • Possession of tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with staff and the public.
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads, whilst working autonomously and to be flexible in a changing work environment.
  • Use initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to resolve problems.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication (written and oral), problem solving and negotiation skills to enhance ability to work successfully within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to utilise high level knowledge and skills with PC based systems, with particular expertise in the application of keyboard, word processing, spread sheeting and database services.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $48.51 - $53.95 p.h. (Including 25% casual loading)
