About us:

Emerald Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. Emerald Hospital is a 28-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across emergency, acute care, perioperative services, maternity, and ambulatory service including infusion services, Hospital in the Home, telecardiac services, Rapid Access, palliative care, wound care clinic, child and family health, mental health, community and primary care. There are three smaller multi-purpose health services (MPHS), located at Blackwater, Springsure and Woorabinda along with three Primary Care centres at Gemfields, Capella and Tieri.

About the role:

The Ambulatory Care Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse, who is accountable at an advanced level, for the coordination of clinical practice. This position provides leadership and support to nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care, while working in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Director of Nursing.

The Ambulatory Care Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in outpatient settings, including Hospital in the Home/ Wound Care Clinic and Infusion Clinic. This role involves coordinating and delivering patient-centred care aimed at managing chronic conditions, promoting healing and administering treatments outside the traditional inpatient hospital environment.

About you:

The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate is essential.

While not mandatory, Emergency Nursing experience, Triage and Advanced Life Support qualifications highly desirable.

  • Desirable to have post-graduate qualifications in the clinical area of expertise.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $65,949 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
