About the Department of Education

The department employs approximately 260 full time speech language pathologists across the state to support students, their teachers and their families with the student's speech language communication needs.

Mandatory and others requirements of the job

  • You must have completed or be in the final year of completing your degree in speech pathology from a recognised tertiary institution, or other equivalent formal qualifications.
  • You must be eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services and a criminal history check to commence employment.
  • You will be required to work throughout the service area of the position's base location and you may be required to operate a government vehicle, therefore you will require the appropriate licence (Queensland ‘C' class licence).

  • Applications will be reviewed regularly and graduate interviews will be held:
    • Week of 15th July - 21th July
    • Week of 19th September – 25th Sept, and
    • Week of 9th-15th October.
