About the Department:

The Early Childhood Division is responsible for approving and regulating early childhood services under the relevant legislation; funding kindergarten and long day care services to deliver quality kindergarten programs in Queensland; funding support services for families to enable early childhood development and promoting successful transitions from home to early childhood education to school, for children and families.

Your Role:

The Executive Support Officer will provide high quality administrative and executive support for the Executive Director Early Childhood Programs and Funding from Central Office in Brisbane CBD. This role also requires high levels of organisation to be able to support the teams that sit in the Early Childhood Programs and Funding branch.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the workflow of correspondence and requests on behalf of the Executive Director and the Early Childhood Programs and Funding leadership team.
  • Monitor progress, follow up and report to the Executive Director on various projects and action items and undertake investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Arranging appointments, meetings and conferences including venues, travel arrangements, accommodation and receiving visitors and delegations as well as coordinating financial and HR advice and recruitment activities.
  • Arrange and organise travel, book accommodation and vehicles, in accordance with the travel policy.
  • Develop, implement and review executive support systems and procedures within and across the division when required.

 About You:

We're looking for someone with:

  • Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills;
  • A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities;
  • Understanding of government processes, policies and procedures; and
  • Proficient use and understanding of departmental applications including Corporate Travel Management system, Content Manager and ExpenseMe Pro or the ability to rapidly gain this knowledge.
