About the Department:

About the Role:

As the Principal Project Officer, you will:

  • Provide high level strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on the implementation of key reform initiatives, such as the Youth Engagement Education Reform package and the Queensland Government's response to recommendations from the Disability Royal Commission.
  • Lead and participate in project teams to develop implementation and support measures to provide quality outcomes in schools and regions.

Responsibilities Include:

As a Principal Project Officer, you will:

  • Be responsible for the development of policy and programs related to student engagement initiatives.
  • Have the opportunity to contribute to a number of different initiatives that support students at risk of or who have disengaged from education, including supporting delivery of FlexiSpaces, providing policy oversight of Queensland State Pathways College and other initiatives related to quality alternative learning.
  • Have excellent project management skills.
  • Be able to identify and use data to analyse strategic and program risks.
  • Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills enabling you to communicate with diverse audiences.
  • An understanding of existing alternative learning research and education initiatives is desirable.
