The Capability branch is located in the Schools and Student Support (SSS) Division. A key part of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) delivering high-quality, evidence-informed and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages.
The EFI provides customised and co-designed professional learning programs to empower staff to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to excel in their role.
The role of Senior Officer, Corporate Services is offered on a full-time permanent basis, and is located in Central Office Brisbane.
About the Role:
As a Senior Officer, Corporate Services you will play an important role in managing and maintaining Capability Branch service delivery and corporate functions.
Responsibilities Include:
Key functions of this role include:
- Undertaking human resources and administration activities across the branch such as establishment management, recruitment support, payroll verifications, Alloc8 management, and HR reporting,
- Supporting the delivery of other corporate services functions such as procurement and finance,
- Developing and maintaining processes and protocols for the Branch in line with Departmental procedures and SSS divisional protocols,
- Providing advice and support to branch senior leadership team and regional EFI teams as required.
The Senior Officer, Corporate Services reports to the Manager, Capability.
The ideal applicant is someone who demonstrates:
- Understanding of the vision and strategic directions of the Department of Education
- High-level written and oral communication skills and experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, bringing high level skills in problem solving, prioritisation and managing competing demands in a timely manner
- Excellence in service delivery and strives to make a positive impact in education.
The following desirable skills would be highly regarded, although not mandatory:
- Have sound knowledge of relevant departmental policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of departmental platforms including Content Manager, SAP, TSS, MyBAPS, MyHR portals and Request to Hire processes.
