If you have a passion for asset care and safety, with an ability to foster a dynamic team and advance a continuous improvement agenda, Maintenance Operations is looking for a temporary Manager, School Facilities Operations.The School Facilities Operations Team works collaboratively to deliver support and advisory services to Principals and Business Managers to manage school facilities operations, particularly in relation to safe cleaning and grounds care needs of educational sites. The Team interacts with Organisational Safety & Wellbeing to promote safe practices aligned with the department's current chemical management requirements and equipment use. School Facilities Operations also works with Procurement, Corporate Finance, Payroll and Human Resources to deliver services to schools.

About the Opportunity
The Manager is responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Lead a central and regionally based team in the delivery, management and reporting for a range of complex operational infrastructure activities, particularly cleaning and grounds care needs for the department's educational sites.
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to manage accurate and timely information and advice, to support schools and educational sites in their operational infrastructure needs.
About the Role
What we're looking for in our Manager is someone who can:
- Lead, manage and participate in a team(s) providing a high-quality service in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure and planning related services to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Provide and be accountable for high level advice to the Minister, Director-General, Division management and senior executive, Regional Directors and Principals on a broad range of issues including the preparation of responses, reports and briefing materials on a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management issues and review material created members of your team(s).
- Manage project teams in the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures to support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
- Establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor issues and changes, and to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes with respect to a range of infrastructure and planning related services and facilitate ongoing departmental relationships within these networks.
- Regularly liaise with stakeholder groups to ensure services managed by the unit meet their needs.
- Proactively support teams and work units across the Division to achieve business priorities and deliver services aligned to strategic objectives.
- Manage the human, financial and physical resources allocated to support the service function and be accountable for their effective use.
