About the Role:
As the Corporate Services Officer, you will:
- Manage and coordinate corporate governance processes, including financial, human resource, asset and budget management across all units within the Branch.
- Provide support and continually monitor and review systems and information, providing recommendations for effective strategies to manage and improve corporate governance functions and processes within the Branch.
The Corporate Services Officer reports to the Business Manager, Office of the Assistant Director-General, Intergovernmental Relations and Schools Resourcing Review branch. The Corporate Services Officer may also be required to work under the direction of other senior staff in periods of peak activity.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide advice to the Business Manager and senior managers to identify and address current and emerging administrative and organisational issues which impact on the service delivery and capability of the branch, including the effective delivery of outcomes within allocated resources to ensure maximum results are achieved.
- Provide independent advice and options on the branch's human and physical resource management trends, including monitoring of salary expenses, and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of branch strategies and plans.
- Develop, document and implement administrative policies, practices and technologies that represent best practice and continuous improvement to ensure compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations and departmental policies.
- Coordinate, monitor and review the preparation and administration of the branch's financial and corporate reporting requirements including budget estimates, risk management and performance management reports, corporate governance reports and annual report data, allocation of the budget appropriation and monthly financial reporting.
- Coordinate the acquisition, development, maintenance and enhancement of electronic and other administrative systems and procedures for the branch, including establishment management, financial management, asset management and the development, maintenance and implementation of an ongoing branch Onboarding induction program.
- Manage the provision of office accommodation, storage facilities, inventory and equipment needs of the branch including coordinate ordering and control of stock and equipment and replacement of office equipment within the branch.
- Organise and conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to administrative and other staff across the branch on the application of administrative policies and procedures to ensure the continuous provision of high-quality support services.
- Prepare correspondence, reports and submissions on issues related to finance, human resources, records management, information management and general office administration, and negotiate their recommendations.
- Liaise widely within the branch, with support staff across all units across the department and with external government and private sector agencies on a variety of corporate governance issues.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
