About the Strategy and Performance Branch:

The Strategy and Performance branch of Early Childhood is made up of several teams including the Performance Team where the Workforce Team is located. The Workforce Team is delivering the Workforce Strategy for Queensland's Early Childhood sector as well as other exciting programs and projects.

About the Role:

Working with a fun and dynamic team, you'll be at the forefront of supporting an entire sector to be at their best!  Working with a highly skilled and experience team, you'll be supported and mentored to deliver outstanding results and develop your skills, experience and career.

Responsibilities Include:

The Senior Policy Officer, Workforce Team, your contribution includes:

  • Contribute to the development of major reforms, briefings, reports, and submissions including key departmental Cabinet submissions that achieve improved early childhood education and care outcomes.
  • Develop and use your critical thinking skills to contribute to the program / project delivery cycle whilst managing multiple priorities as part of an engaged and supportive team.
  • Support the administration of grants, reporting, budget monitoring, governance and accountability in line with Queensland Treasury's Financial Accountability Handbook.
  • Prepare and contribute to a variety of correspondence including stakeholder responses, briefing notes and approval briefs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a range of systems and processes that include data and performance analysis and evaluation (technical skills highly regarded).

About You:

  • You will be a proven self-starter whilst working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
  • You will have experience in managing multiple priorities in a program or project capacity and an ability to quickly learn the context - You don't need to be an Early Childhood expert. We'll mentor the successful candidate.
  • You will be a person who contributes ideas and puts forward suggestions to ensure we are striving for excellence in everything we do.
