About the Department:

The Department of Education are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. This starts with recruitment and selection. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary. This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.

About the Role:

The FSC initiative focuses on early intervention and prevention, supporting improved outcomes for Queensland children and families and ensuring a smooth transition into the early school years. As a regional FSC, you will provide strategic advice, training, oversight and governance for the pilot implementation of school-based FSC roles across your region.

You will work collaboratively with school-based FSCs, school leaders, and regional and central office colleagues to shape and deliver this new approach to supporting students in Prep to Year 2. In each region, we are seeking a skilled and strategic leader with strong project management capabilities, a passion for innovation, and experience in building staff capability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising schools on the implementation and operation of the FSC role in line with relevant policy, procedures and legislation
  • Supporting schools to manage emerging issues in consultation with internal stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Reviewing and refining regional systems and processes to support effective FSC service delivery
  • Monitoring data collection to inform continuous improvement
  • Contributing to recruitment, workforce planning and training to meet school needs

You will play a key role in both “doing the work” and “shaping the work” by partnering with Central Office and contributing to future models of student support through the FSC initiative.

Interested? To Apply:

  • Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)
  • Attach a 1-pg written statement addressing your suitability for the role that expressly preferences which region's position you are interested in - North Coast Region and/or Metro North Region.

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.

Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
