About the Role:
As the Director, Procurement Services you will:
- Provide procurement policy, capability, compliance and systems advice to the Chief Procurement Officer, Senior Management and key internal stakeholders and clients.
- Provide procurement advice to senior management and key internal clients, and lead a team that provides high quality procurement services to the department.
- Participate in the development, implementation and measurement of the department's agency procurement plans and individual project initiatives.
- The Director, Procurement Services report to the Chief Procurement Officer. This position will be required to supervise other branch staff and project team members undertaking procurement activities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Translate the department's procurement plan, the branch's outcomes and other strategies into operational projects and goals that create a shared sense of purpose to improve procurement practices throughout the department.
- Represent the department in dealings with other agencies and Whole-of-Government forums relating to the procurement function.
- In consultation with key stakeholders develop, maintain and refine the department's standard procurement sourcing practices including requirements documentation, risk management, invitation to tender and offer documentation, engagement services, evaluation protocols and standards for negotiation of contracts.
- Leading the procurement policy, capability, compliance and systems teams on behalf of the Department.
- Maintain and manage staff induction and professional development processes for the branch.
About You:
It would be high desirable to have recent, relevant procurement experience managing a procurement services and/or procurement services and capability function.
