Financial Advisory Services, Far North Queensland Region, has a temporary opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team. In this role, you'll work closely with schools to enhance their financial capabilities, ensuring effective resource management that drives improved educational
outcomes for students. The position is based in Cairns providing advice and support to school staff regarding financial management.

About the Role:
The Senior Finance Business Partner works directly with schools and will:
- Support the development and delivery of financial management training material to support schools.
- Assist with the development and communication of school accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilities Include:
The position is a key contact for schools in terms of financial policy and procedures. This requires an understanding of financial management practices affecting schools and involves:
- Undertaking analysis of financial management practices and financial performance of schools.
- Providing financial management advice to school based staff.
- Monitoring the level of financial management competencies within schools.
Providing appropriate training and development programs to enhance financial management skills. - Working effectively in a team environment.
About You:
It would be highly desirable to have the following skills and experience:
- Sound knowledge of contemporary financial management issues and strategies impacting schools.
- Ability to interrogate and analyse school financial management systems - Agresso and OneSchool Finance.
- Ability to deliver training programs relating to school financial management, including in an online format.
- High level communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to influence customer behaviour and implement change.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills appropriate to achieving outcomes within negotiated timeframes.
