About the Role
As the Manager, Data Governance, you will:
- Lead strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance framework, policies and standards for the Education Queensland Insights Platform to ensure the integrity, security and value of departmental data assets.
- Operationalising data governance framework, embedding governance by design into the enterprise data platform, and building organisational capability to ensure data is a trusted, secure, and strategic asset that supports education outcomes.
- Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications required for this position, it would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to possess:
- Certification in data governance or management (eg CDMP, DCAM).
- Experience working within education or public sector data environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and Implement Governance Frameworks: Lead the creation, deployment, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance framework, policies, and standards to ensure the integrity, security, and value of departmental data assets.
- Embed Governance by Design: Operationalise data governance framework by integrating governance principles into the enterprise data platform and supporting systems to enable trusted and secure data use.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Build strong partnerships with business units to establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and quality assurance processes.
- Deploy Governance Tools: Oversee the adoption of data catalogues, glossaries, and metadata repositories to enhance data discoverability, consistency, and reuse.
- Foster Capability and Culture: Deliver training and support resources to empower data stewards and users, while promoting a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
