About the Role

Some of the responsibilities of the Senior Finance Advisor will include:

  • Providing accurate and authoritative advice to clients across the department on all matters relating to the administration and management of budgetary and financial resources.
  • A leading role in monthly reporting processes, including the preparation of the department's montly finance report.
  • Providing training and support to clients across the department on a variety of budgetary and financial management processes, including monthly reporting, journals and budget processes.
  • Undertaking a review of journals submitted by divisions to ensure correct accounting treatment and audit requirements have been met.
  • Contributing to the department's internal budget review processes.
  • Building and maintaining effective networks with colleagues, clients and stakeholders to ensure that knowledge and information is shared and organisational and client outcomes are achieved within determined frameworks and timeframes.
  • Coordinating or assisting in the development of training materials on a variety of budgetary and financial management processes for finance and non-finance staff in business units.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated:

  • Working knowledge & understanding of financial accounting and budget principles.
  • Proven issue identification, problem solving, analytical and research skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills, proven ability to maintain positive and effective client and team relationships, including the ability to interact effectively and provide advice.
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines whilst operating independently with flexibility in line with the broader objectives of team and division.
