Procurement and Facilities Services Branch are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Officer to join our General Goods and Services (GGS) Category Management team. Working primarily within the Contract Management and Strategy team, the ideal candidate will be providing contract management support to schools and business units
throughout the state related to retail entities and multiple supply arrangements managed by the Department.
This position is being offered in a temporary full-time capacity for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:
Located in the Brisbane CBD, the role requires flexibility along with good time management skills. Reporting direct to the Manager General Goods and Services your duties will encompass a wide range of procurement and contract management functions.
Responsibilities Include:
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide and assist in the delivery of quality procurement advice and services for procurement planning activities including sourcing documentation development, release and evaluation processes and contract negotiation, formation, management and administration activities.
- Apply effective Contract Management practices across a range of Departmental Contacts, Standing offer Arrangements and Pre-Qualified Panels.
- Maintain a detailed documentary record of procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements undertaken ensuring the audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability and audit purposes.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice in the branch by maintaining a good knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
About You:
To succeed in this role, it would be highly desirable to have the following skills and experience:
- Adapt written and verbal communication relevant to the client or stakeholder.
- Manage competing priorities within tight timelines.
- Provide support and advice on a range of topics related to the supply arrangement.
- Be a positive team member, contributing to shared objectives and initiatives.
- Work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- It is desirable the candidate has achieved Procurement Certification Program Level 2.
- Undertaking strategic and complex contract management practices including reporting responsibilities.
