An exciting opportunity exists for two rehearsal assistants to join the Creative Generation, State Schools Onstage program team in 2026.

Join our team and play a key role in supporting weekend dance rehearsals! Rehearsal Assistants will work closely with Category Coordinators to ensure student safety, supervise casts, assist with repertoire questions, and help manage student groups throughout rehearsals.

Your Role:

As the Rehearsal Assistant (dance) you will have responsibility for the following:

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Programs and Events team and contractors to ensure the success of rehearsals.
• Assist with the setup, registration and management of rehearsals.
• Liaise with specific category coordinators to ensure rehearsals are structured suitably, supporting student health and wellbeing.
• Support choreographers, dance director and creative director for all scheduled rehearsals, to ensure creative vision is communicated.
• Ensure routine standards are upheld for the performance delivery.
• Perform any other duties as required by the production team for the successful delivery of CGEN.

About You:

• Experience working with students aged 3-18 years,
• Administrative skillset (desirable for any office commitments),
• Clear communicator,
• Ability to direct a room of more than 300+ students,
• Strong background in dance (demonstrated professional experience required),
• Ability to adapt to your surroundings and work within a team of diverse and creative people.

Mandatory requirements: (if applicable)

Successful applicants must have:

• A current blue card
• A willingness to obtain first aid training (annual training provided)
• Professional experience in dance
• Driver's license and access to a vehicle (desirable, not mandatory)
