Your opportunity

As the Manager, Injury Management you will:

  • Lead a team of health, recovery and injury management professionals to deliver high-quality advice, system improvements and capability uplift across the department.
  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of initiatives, programs and frameworks that strengthen departmental approaches to health, recovery and injury management.

The Manager reports to the Director, Injury Management.

Your role

Appointments in the public sector are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously—the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the planning, delivery and reporting of health, recovery and injury management initiatives to support departmental strategic objectives and workforce wellbeing.
  • Provide authoritative strategic and operational advice to senior leaders, managers and staff on matters relating to health, recovery, injury management and wellbeing.
  • Design, develop and implement projects, programs and frameworks that strengthen governance, accountability, capability and system-wide consistency.
  • Lead project governance, performance monitoring and reporting to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, budget and quality expectations.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including outcomes, deliverables, resource requirements, timelines, risks and performance measures.
  • Manage procurement and financial activities associated with program and project delivery in accordance with departmental policy and sound financial management practices.
  • Liaise, consult and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including WorkCover Queensland, Australian Retirement Trust and other government partners, to support collaborative implementation of departmental initiatives.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services, advice, and continuous improvement across health, recovery and injury management functions.
  • Prepare high-quality briefs, submissions, reports and correspondence of a complex nature relating to program planning, coordination, implementation and performance.
  • Develop and maintain communication strategies, quality assurance processes and evaluation mechanisms to measure outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
