The Department of Education is seeking for a temporary, flexible full time A06 Senior Communication and Engagement Officer to join our corporate Communication and Marketing team until 26 June 2026.

Use your skills and knowledge in communication and stakeholder management to deliver engaging, audience-centric campaigns to support our initiatives, programs and events, and your storytelling skills to shine a light on the excellence of our state school staff and students.

About the Communication and Events Team.

The Communication and Events (C&E) branch is responsible for the department's corporate communication, sponsorship and events as well as social media and graphic design. Services provided by C&E ensure that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.

Your role: 

As Senior Communication and Engagement Officer based in our CBD central office, you will support the people of Queensland through the delivery of key communication and marketing services.

The role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications and marketing professional to deliver a range of strategic communications and marketing projects and activities to education and corporate clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deliver communication and marketing plans and activities which promote the key policies and programs of the department.
  • Provide advice to internal clients by analysing their specific communication and marketing needs, and assisting in the planning, development and implementation of creative communication strategies
  • Research, write and edit a range of communication materials for internal and external communication channels including social media and web.

About You: 

  • Some experience in and knowledge of digital communication for government services would be advantageous.
