The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (ECRA) is recruiting for a Talent Pool of Senior Regulatory Officers to fill current & future temporary & permanent vacancies within the next 12 months, across the 8 regions in Queensland. Applicants deemed suitable through previous talent pool recruitment processes within the past 12 months will remain on the current suitability list and be considered for available positions in their selected regional office. Successful applicants from all 2024 talent pool processes should now consider reapplying to be considered for positions in ECRA.

About the Department of Education:

The Department of Education (DoE) supports quality early learning and delivers world class education services. The department also hosts the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority which regulates early childhood education and care services and assesses and rates the quality of services against the National Quality Standard.

Your Role:

  • Support the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority by applying early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines to regulate the sector under Regulating for Quality policy.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Regional Offices, Central Office Teams and ECEC providers and services to achieve regulatory outcomes.
  • The Senior Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager, Regulation, in each Regional Office, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines to regulate the ECEC sector under the Regulating for Quality  policy.  Including monitoring, investigations and assessment of applications and notifications.
  • Conduct assessment and rating of education and care services across Queensland.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with stakeholders including Regional Offices, and ECEC providers to achieve regulatory outcomes.
  • Undertake other duties as directed.

About You:

The successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • Regulatory experience or ability to quickly learn ECEC regulation.
  • Experience in assessment and rating, or the ability to complete required training
  • Strong understanding of quality early childhood practice
  • Strong analytical, communication, decision-making and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage risk, prioritise tasks, and work collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Passion for early childhood, with a focus on children's health, safety and wellbeing

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Blue Card
  • Driver licence
