About the Role
The Infrastructure Services Division is seeking an Executive Director with exemplary portfolio, program and major project experience as well as government acumen to lead the education growth and renewal program.
Infrastructure Delivery is responsible for administering overall coordination of the Department's infrastructure program. Currently, five teams are responsible for coordination including managing procurement, administration, design development and oversight of the delivery of projects and programs of work across 1,266 existing schools and up to 25 new schools by 2032.
The position requires strong professional leadership and management capabilities. Leading and managing the Infrastructure Delivery Portfolio to deliver government priorities along with excellence in client service delivery. The Executive Director is to provide high level leadership particularly by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Lead a portfolio comprising 6 direct reports and over 100 staff and contractors.
- Collaborate and consult with an extensive stakeholder group from within the department, external education peak bodies, with other State and Commonwealth government departments and industry to ensure effective implementation of infrastructure programs.
- Establish and maintain effective frameworks to oversee governance, risk, program budgets and reporting systems.
- Implement effective infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of clients while ensuring program parameters of time, cost, quality, scope and adherence to policy/guidelines are achieved.
- Provide authoritative program and project management for the implementation of significant infrastructure programs ensuring that performance measures for time, cost, quality, scope, and adherence to policy/guidelines are achieved.
- Ensure effective program management, monitoring, forecasting and analysis of significant capital and expense budgets, revenue funding and cash projections in accordance with agreements
As an Executive, you will have extensive experience within the public, private and/or not for profit sector leading the delivery of a large/complex infrastructure program across a broad geographic region.
You will process the relevant background and experience, have success in a similar role and you will also be skilled in inspiring individuals and teams in the pursuit of world class infrastructure delivery and public-sector management. This role is offered as an SES contract for a period of up to 5 years.
