The Infrastructure Planning Unit within Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) is seeking a dynamic Infrastructure Services Officer to join a high-performing team dedicated to delivering efficient, sustainable infrastructure that supports the educational outcomes for Queensland's students.
This is a full-time opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of education by shaping infrastructure solutions across approximately 1200 state schools, contributing to a progressive education system.
This temporary opportunity will be available until 19 January 2027 with a possibility of extension to join our team!

About the Role:
As the Infrastructure Services Officer, you will play a pivotal role, working closely with schools, regional infrastructure advisors and central office teams to guide infrastructure projects through planning, ensuring they achieve scope, budget and functional requirements.
This role reports through to the Manager, New Schools Planning stream of the IPU, however workloads will be across the full IPU team.
Key responsibility include, though are not limited to:
- Undertake high level planning to develop the current packages for implementation with school and early childhood communities across Queensland to modernise and optimise school facilities.
- Participate in teams involved in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for related infrastructure, planning, asset management or project related services.
- Assist with the preparation, analysis and presentation of data to ensure regular and accurate reporting on related activities.
- Manage operational issues to ensure identified outcomes and timelines are met.
- Provide secretariat support to support project or program governance.
- Prepare Ministerial and general correspondence, briefings, reports and submissions on project related matters and undertake record management activities for the work team.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day operations of the work team.
You will report to the Manager, New Schools Planning, Project Planning, within a supportive environment that values teamwork, innovation and adaptability.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following knowledge, skills, experience and personal attributes:
- Proven experience and knowledge in delivering relevant infrastructure solutions in educational settings or similar environments
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- A commitment to fostering positive change and continuous improvement to support best practice project planning and delivery
- A willingness to learn and participate and use your initiative across a broad range of activities
- A mandatory requirement for this role; You will also hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
