Your opportunity:

As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will support the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority in ensuring Queensland's early childhood education and care (ECEC) services meet relevant legislation, standards, policies and guidelines. You will undertake regulatory activities, including assessment and rating of education and care services across Queensland as part of the A&R Flying Squad, while building collaborative relationships with ECEC providers, regional offices, government agencies and other stakeholders.

Please note: This role requires travel throughout Queensland.

About you:

We are looking for someone with experience in the early childhood sector and/or regulation, with the ability to rapidly develop knowledge of ECEC regulation and assessment and rating processes. You will have strong analytical, communication, decision-making and risk management skills, be able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of children.

Experience conducting assessment and rating of education and care services is highly desirable. Successful applicants will be required to undertake authorised officer training through the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Some key traits the successful applicant will have;

  • Experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector.
  • Experience in conducting assessment and rating or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge
    and complete training in conducting assessment and rating;

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct assessment and rating (A&R) of education and care services across Queensland as part of the A&R Flying Squad.
  • Consistently and fairly applying relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Regional Offices, and ECEC providers and services to achieve regulatory outcomes.
