About us:
Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) provides quality infrastructure services to the department. ISD is a highly motivated, energetic and results orientated team focused on delivering flexible, innovative and responsive infrastructure solutions.
The Special Program Delivery team, as the name suggests, delivers the projects and programs outside of the normal business-as-usual requirements.
These may come about due to a budget announcement, election commitment, new strategy or initiative.
About the Role:
As the Senior Project Coordinator, you will have responsibility for (but not limited to):
- Lead, manage and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of school infrastructure projects that may range in value from $1M to $30M. This encompasses the management of financial and human resources, as well as the planning, construction, and commissioning phases, all within the bounds of legislative and contractual frameworks. This includes:
- Oversee and maintain critical project information, including milestones and expenditure, within departmental systems such as SAP, ensuring data accuracy, currency, and compliance with departmental reporting and audit standards.
- Engaging and leading multidisciplinary project teams of external project managers, consultants, and delivery partners to successfully deliver multiple, concurrent project initiatives across the state, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, governance requirements, departmental standards, and delivery timeframes.
- Establish, foster, and sustain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, such as school leaders, regional officers, contractors, and community representatives. Promote open and effective communication channels to ensure clarity, collaboration, and a consistently high level of client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Preparing coherent and politically sensitive reports, correspondence and submissions to key stakeholders and clients. This includes: the Minister, Director-General, ISD executive and other departmental stakeholders.

Key Skills and Attributes:
- Experienced in infrastructure and project delivery including building design, management, and/or construction. Familiarity with working with schools is also highly regarded.
- Strong communicator with the ability to engage collaboratively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive leader capable of driving projects and guiding project teams effectively.
- Critical thinker and problem solver who makes well considered decisions.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of practice through strong governance and risk management.
Requirements for this role:
- The role is based in Central Office for the majority of the workweek.
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) issued by Blue Card Services is mandatory and must be obtained prior to commencing employment.
- Flexibility and ability to travel to regional and remote locations, which may occasionally require overnight stays.
- A current and valid driver's licence.
