You will provide leadership in MHAOD strategy, planning and program development, that is evidence informed and consistent with relevant national and state policy directions.
What you'll do
• Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective MHAOD strategies and service initiatives, to deliver on Queensland Government priorities.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders across government and non-government sectors.
• Represent Queensland Health in intra-governmental, intergovernmental, and external forums.
• Prepare and coordinate timely and high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, correspondence, presentations, and other documentation.
• Provide leadership, development, and management of the program of work to achieve identified priorities and organizational, business, and operational outcomes.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Expert knowledge or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drugs issues and priorities at a national and state level, particularly related to community mental health supports required before and following a disaster event.
• High level and demonstrated interpersonal skills in negotiation, influencing, advocacy, communication, consultation and harnessing the collective efforts of diverse stakeholders at strategic and operational levels, including health professionals, government agencies and non-government organizations.
• High level and demonstrated policy, planning and project leadership and management skills and the demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to mental health alcohol and other drugs health issues.
