Glenmore State High School are seeking an innovative and collaborative Head of Department - Science to drive excellence within their Science Department.

You will be a skilled instructional leader with strong organisational skills and subject expertise. You will lead a collaborative team to shape an engaging curriculum, with a focus on quality teaching and learning for improved student achievement.

This is a temporary full-time position for the remainder of 2025, with the possibility of extension.

About the Role

As the Head of Department - Science, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

• Lead the curriculum focus and school department in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
• Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
• Set high standards for student and staff performance.
• Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
• Build partnerships with students, parents, agencies, and community groups.
• Be future-oriented and strategic.
• Understand legislation and policies impacting on the school department, students and staff.
