Expressions of interest are invited for officers wishing to be considered for Principal positions which arise throughout the year within the Central Queensland Region.

This continuous applicant pool is open to candidates who meet the mandatory requirements for principal roles, as outlined in the attached role descriptions.

Applicants are advised to consult their current supervisor regarding support for the application, release capacity, and appropriate classification levels.

Applications will be reviewed throughout 2025 as Principal vacancies arise. The submission of an application to this applicant pool does not guarantee an offer of employment.

About the Role: 

This temporary recruitment pool is open to current Queensland Government employees only and accordingly any appointment will not extend beyond 6 months. Applications will be reviewed and considered throughout 2025, if and when Principal vacancies are identified. The positions may range induration up to a school semester. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
