We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to play a vital role in ensuring every student’s diverse learning needs are understood and supported within a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
This position will support students across both Longreach State School and Longreach School of Distance Education, with a key focus on working directly with students and building staff capability in inclusive practices. Additionally, the role will contribute to advancing broader inclusion efforts across the Central West Cluster.

About the Community
At Longreach State School, part of the Central West Cluster, students engage in a rich and inclusive curriculum that goes beyond foundational Literacy and Numeracy to encompass Science, History, Studies of Society and Environment, Visual Arts, Music, and Health and Physical Education.
About the Role
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
