About the School

As the only state secondary school on the southern side of Rockhampton, Rockhampton State High School has approximately 1300 students in Years 7 to 12.  The school offers a comprehensive curriculum, including a strong focus on vocational education and training, to prepare students for post-school pathways.

About the Role

As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.

  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Nurture positive partnerships with students, teachers, community and stakeholders.
  • Be future-oriented and strategic.
  • Understand policies and legislation effecting the department.
  • Manage department resources to achieve goals.
