EOI - Teacher Aide - Waraburra State School

Waraburra State School is opening an Early Childhood Development Program to support the pre-school education of students with disabilities in Gracemere and the surrounding community, and is seeking expressions of interest for a teacher aide to join the team.

The successful applicant will work with the Early Childhood Development Program teacher to provide quality, play-based learning opportunities for children and support their transition to school.

Preparing learning materials and liaising with families and stakeholders regarding student progress will also be key responsibilities of the role.

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week at 0.26 FTE.

Your Opportunity 

As the Teacher Aide, you will:

  • Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.

Your Responsibilities 

As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
