Capricornia School of Distance Education is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Teacher Aide to join our dynamic team.

Your role as the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and supporting students in online lessons.

Operating across campuses in Emerald and Rockhampton, Capricornia School of Distance Education delivers innovative online education from Prep to Year 12, including Japanese language programs reaching over 4,000 students.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

About the school: 

Capricornia School of Distance Education operates across two campuses in Emerald and Rockhampton, delivering innovative online learning to students from Prep to Year 12. In addition to our core curriculum, we also offer Japanese language education to over 4000 students.

About the role:

As the Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and supporting students in online lessons. The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate.

Teacher Aides at Capricornia School of Distance Education play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students during online lessons. Proficiency in computer skills and technology is essential for success in this role.

  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
