About the Role
As the Head of Department, you will lead curriculum initiatives aligned with school and departmental priorities, contribute to delivering the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, enhance the quality of teaching and learning, and foster strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders.
This position also offers access to subsidised housing and locality allowances.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Senior Schooling, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Curriculum oversight and student wellbeing for Years 10-12.
- The role requires a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum (including implementation of Version 9), the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA), Senior Education and Training (SET) planning, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and student transition pathways.
- The successful applicant will also be responsible for behaviour management and the implementation of wellbeing programs for senior secondary students.
- Teaching experience in the following areas would be considered advantageous: Design and Technology, Hospitality, Agriculture, and Art.
