About the Role
As the Head of Department, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and advancing the educational direction of the school, ensuring that curriculum priorities align seamlessly with both school and departmental initiatives. You will contribute to the broader vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division, driving excellence through the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices. Your leadership will foster a collaborative and supportive environment, where strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and key stakeholders are cultivated and maintained. In this capacity, you will report directly to the Principal or their delegate, upholding a standard of accountability and commitment to educational success.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Teaching and Learning, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
