About the Role: 

As the Head of Department, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Mathematics curriculum in alignment with school and departmental priorities.
  • Lead and support staff in delivering high-quality teaching and learning practices that foster excellence in student outcomes across all year levels.
  • Model and promote innovative and evidence-based approaches to teaching Mathematics, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • Build staff capability through mentoring, professional development, and collaborative practices to strengthen pedagogy and assessment strategies.
  • Nurture positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider school community to enhance engagement and achievement in Mathematics
  • Contribute to the broader leadership of the school as a member of the leadership team, actively participating in the delivery of the vision and strategic direction of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division.

The Head of Department (Mathematics) is accountable to, and operates under the direction of, the Principal or delegate.
