About the School
Homebush State School, nestled within the Mackay Regional Council, has been a cornerstone of the community since 1889. Originally built to serve a sugar-growing area, the school now caters to a diverse population, with many families working in mining or embracing the rural lifestyle just outside Mackay, only 25 kilometres away. Surrounded by lush cane fields and mature trees, the school boasts expansive grounds that create a peaceful and inspiring environment. About the Role
As the Principal, you will deliver the department's vision, drive improvements in educational outcomes for students, and enhance the quality of teaching and learning. You will nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community, and key stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and supportive school environment. In this role, your commitment will focus on enhancing educational experiences for all students while building strong, lasting connections with the broader school community.
Responsibility
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
