About the School 

Glenella State School, established on 7 May 1879 and renamed in 1912, has a long and proud history. Located just 7km from Mackay's city heart, the school serves a growing inner suburb and offers a range of nearby facilities. Catering to students from Prep to Year 6, Glenella State School provides both multi-age and straight-year classrooms. While maintaining the qualities of a small school, we offer the programs and facilities found in larger schools. Your Responsibilities 

As the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Ability to work independently, design and conduct engaging playgroup activities and programs, consistently achieving positive outcome
  • Foster a supportive and interactive environment, while actively contributing to the community and building strong relationships.
  • Ensure that all necessary materials for activities are gathered, set up workspaces and coordinate activities
  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
  • Working with small groups as well as individual students, conducting and recording intervention programs
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high levels of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs
  • Clerical assistance and resourcing duties including but not limited to: duplicating/ photocopying teaching materials, laminating
  • Experience with producing a range of documents using Word, Canva
  • Provide first aid and support for medical needs as required, following school protocols.
  • Display confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Assisting with playground duties
