We are seeking a School Technical Officer to provide reliable ICT support, maintenance, and advice within a school environment.In this role, you will manage day-to-day ICT operations, maintain hardware and software, and assist staff and students in using technology effectively.
You will contribute to creating innovative and supportive learning environments by ensuring secure, efficient ICT systems that enhance teaching, learning, and administration across the school.
This role will be a cluster role across Farnborough State School and Yeppoon State School.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.57FTE), 41 hours per fortnight.

This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

What we are looking for
It is highly desirable, but not mandatory, for our next School Technical Officer:
- Technical knowledge of server hardware, configuration, and networking peripherals.
- A strong understanding of PC and laptop systems, iPads, and printer support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical ability.
- A client-focused approach with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Experience supporting local and wide area networks and applying security protocols.
- Ability to research, identify, and apply creative ICT solutions.
Your Responsibilities
As the School Technical Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing advice and assistance on ICT acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, and replacement.
- Supporting the school community with technical advice, training, and assistance with electronic equipment.
- Delivering in-service training for staff on effective ICT use to support student outcomes.
- Providing effective customer-focused ICT support to staff and students, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on ICT systems and associated equipment.
- Maintaining accurate technical service records and infrastructure documentation.
- Liaising with stakeholders, including regional and central support teams, on ICT matters.
