Fitzgerald State School is looking for such a person to fulfill the permanent role of Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) at our school.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

The successful candidate will be an experienced and motivational leader who has demonstrated a strong knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures in relation to inclusive education. A proven ability to work with school leadership to lead a highly professional and dedicated team of support staff in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking the day to day supervision and management of school support staff
  • Effectively manage complex student cases
  • Work alongside families and external stakeholders to support students
  • Lead all areas around supporting students with a disability eg ICP, HIC, NCCD
  • Develop the capability of the support staff to support students with a disability

  • Ability to use knowledge of current research
  • Ability to apply school strategic vision when leading others and responding to the needs of students
