We are seeking a dynamic and committed Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to join our leadership team within the Central West Cluster, which includes Longreach School of Distance Education, Winton State School and several small rural and remote schools. Housing is available and transport to schools is also available.

About the Role:
This role provides strategic leadership and specialist expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational outcomes for all students, including those with diverse learning needs and those accessing distance education.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead and Manage Programs: Oversee the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development Programs, ensuring delivery of high-quality advice, teaching, and support for students with disability.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Advise school leadership, teachers, and staff on planning, implementing, and monitoring effective reasonable adjustments and targeted interventions.
- Coordinate Case Management: Manage and support students requiring intensive, substantial, or extensive adjustments through coordinated case management and access to specialist services.
- Collaborate and Build Partnerships: Foster strong partnerships with parents, external agencies, and community groups to enhance support for students with disability.
- Administer Systems and Resources: Implement school-wide data and monitoring systems, manage resources effectively, and contribute to school planning, decision-making, and professional development.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively across the cluster to build staff capability, strengthen inclusive practices, and support innovative teaching and learning tailored to the unique needs of students in rural and remote contexts.
