About the Role:
The Student Wellbeing Workforce aims to ensure every Queensland primary and secondary state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce program work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

Supervision is provided, and supervision for the internship program and clinical registrar program can be provided for this position.

This is a school-based position and travel may be a required element of the role.
Students currently completing their studies are also welcome to apply but will not be interviewed until their university course is completed.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide psychological support and intervention through individual and group counselling and therapeutic services for students, parents, and families, including monitoring progress and supporting responses to critical incidents and emergencies.
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for students with learning, behavioural, emotional, social, or adjustment difficulties, and provide professional advice on diagnoses from external practitioners.
- Collaborate and coordinate services by liaising with school staff, student services personnel, external professionals, and community agencies to ensure integrated support and effective referral and planning for students and families.
- Build capacity within school communities by coordinating or delivering professional development and in-service training for teachers, parents, and professionals, with a focus on student mental health and wellbeing.
- Maintain professional and administrative standards through accurate data collection, confidential record-keeping, reporting in line with departmental policies, and ongoing professional development to meet Psychology Board of Australia registration requirements.
