Comet State School acknowledges the Ghungalu country on which we are respectful, responsible and safe to the land that we stand, live, learn, play, and are educated on. We acknowledge the importance of connection to land, culture, spirituality, ancestry, family and community for the wellbeing of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and future leaders.

The attractive grounds of Comet State School are located in the small township of Comet, approximately halfway between Emerald and Blackwater. Other students live in the town Comet itself or surrounding areas such as Blackwater or Yamala.
