Who We Are:

Biloela is located 125 km west of Gladstone in the Banana Shire Region. Students come from eight primary schools in the area including two non-state schools.

The school is situated on a large site with two ovals, two basketball courts and a large covered area. A 13.5 ha farm is attached to the school and provides the area for Agriculture Science and Horticulture Programs.

The school has an extensive range of curriculum offerings, with growing flexibility for students in the senior phase of learning.

Important Qualities:

  • Assisting in the supervision of educational activities, under the direction of a teacher.
  • High level of communication, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to function as an effective team member.
  • Ability to display respect and empathy for students, especially those with high needs.
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families.
  • Delivery of First Aid.

Required skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of classroom activities and procedures, use and maintenance of resources and school policies.
  • Ability to carry out clerical assistance, including photocopying, typing up of notes and work programs as required.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desired)
  • Paid Blue Card (Mandatory)
  • Basic understanding of occupational health and safety.
  • Willingness to undertake any specific training to enhance student support as necessary.
