An exciting opportunity exists at Yeppoon State High School for a highly motivated and efficient individual to join our Administration team. If you enjoy supporting colleagues and students and take pride in ensuring efficient and well-organised operations, this role may be well suited to you. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach will be key to your success in this position.

Experience in student administration processes and procedures is highly desirable, along with One School operations, student enrolments, managing student absences, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Administration Office. This is a temporary part-time position (0.83FTE or 60 hours per fortnight), unless otherwise determined.

The school site is 14 hectare's and is well laid out with mature trees and gardens that offer outdoor eating areas and shaded spaces. In addition to 70 classrooms the school also has a library, two ovals, two sport and assembly halls, performing arts centre, music rooms, art rooms, two hospitality and manual arts centres, trade training centre, health hub, agricultural farm, five science laboratories, tuckshop and administration centre.

About the Role:

Working within a small and supportive team, you will engage daily with students, parents and staff. As an Administration Officer, you may undertake work across a broad range of corporate service activities, including student administration, finance and facilities, and/or undertake a narrow range of duties relating to a specific corporate services function. You will have the opportunity to be working across and be well-versed in:

  • Student Attendance
  • Student enrolments and records management
  • Student support services
  • Accounts and financial administration support
  • General administrative and office duties.

What qualities are most important for the role?

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities of a busy front counter whilst ensuring exceptional service to students, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities for the efficient and effective provision of corporate services to support school operations.
  • Ability to interpret departmental and school policies, guidelines and to ensure legislative and procedural requirements are met
  • Ability to work autonomously in undertaking a specific corporate services function while supporting fellow Administrative Officers across a broad range of corporate service activities including finance, HR, facilities, records management and student administration
