Teacher Aide - Mackay North State High School

Mackay North State High School is seeking a motivated and reliable Teacher Aide to support the Home Economics Department. In this role, you will assist teachers and students during practical and classroom lessons, prepare and organise resources, and support the ordering, preparation and storage of food and materials required for learning activities. Experience in food preparation, hospitality or a similar environment would be highly regarded. The successful applicant will be organised, able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and committed to supporting positive learning outcomes for students. About the Role:
Contribute to the delivery of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers within the Home Economics Department with the preparation, organisation, and enhancement of learning materials, practical activities, and classroom resources.
Responsibilities:
- Support teachers and students with classroom, practical learning, sporting, and excursion activities.
- Assist with the preparation, organisation, and management of learning resources, equipment, and materials.
- Provide administrative support, including photocopying, record keeping, data entry, and organising activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to support student learning, including literacy and numeracy programs.
- Assist with the supervision and wellbeing of students, including those with additional support needs.
- Support practical subjects such as science, textiles, and food studies through preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment, including providing first aid where required.
