We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our school community. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to support young people facing educational, social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. Acting as a vital link between home and school, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, strengthen engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes. About the School

The current student enrolment is approximately 440, with students from Prep to Year 6.

Your Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate as part of the school's professional support team, working closely with students, teachers, parents, guidance officers, special education staff, administrative personnel, welfare agencies, and government departments to support student wellbeing and engagement.
  • Monitor student attendance data and implement early intervention strategies to identify and support students experiencing attendance, wellbeing, or engagement concerns before issues escalate.
  • Build strong partnerships between the school and families, including conducting home visits where appropriate, to encourage regular attendance, strengthen educational engagement, and assist students in planning future educational pathways.
  • Identify students at risk of disengagement or early school leaving and provide targeted support, advice, and referrals to address personal, family, social, or educational challenges impacting their success.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and strategies that promote social skills, self-esteem, assertiveness, resilience, and positive behaviours, while addressing barriers that contribute to school avoidance.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and reports, advise the Principal of students at risk, and facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff to achieve improved educational outcomes.
