We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head of Department to lead the Technologies Department at Biloela State High School, providing strategic leadership that promotes academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. This is a temporary full-time position until 12 July 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a rigorous and engaging Technologies curriculum that aligns with departmental priorities and supports every student to achieve their personal best. Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-expectations learning culture where students are challenged, supported, and empowered to excel academically and develop the skills required for future success.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate outstanding curriculum leadership, with the capacity to lead, mentor, and support staff in delivering high-quality, evidence-informed teaching and learning programs that drive improved student outcomes.
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, building strong professional relationships and fostering a collaborative culture focused on academic achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Show a commitment to innovation and excellence in education, ensuring the Technologies Department remains responsive to emerging industry trends, contemporary pedagogies, and the evolving needs of students.
  • Champion a culture of high expectations, data-informed practice, and academic success, supporting students to maximise their achievement and pathways beyond school.
  • Contribute positively to the broader vision of Biloela State High School, promoting a culture where every student is encouraged to strive for excellence and reach their full potential.
