This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about curriculum leadership, quality teaching, and improving outcomes for every student. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in teaching, modelling, and implementing the Australian Curriculum while providing leadership across the Mathematics, Science, and Health and Physical Education learning areas.

About the Role:

As the Head of Department, you will:

  • Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division
  • Develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
  • Teach, model and deliver Australian curriculum and demonstrate the ability to lead Mathematics, Science and Health and Physical Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the department to deliver a shared vision focused on improving student learning outcomes.
  • Drive high-quality teaching, inclusive practices, and high expectations for students and staff.
  • Build strong partnerships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Provide strategic leadership aligned with departmental policies and school priorities.
  • Manage departmental staff, curriculum, financial, and physical resources effectively.
  • Model professional learning and continuous improvement.
