Expressions of Interest are invited from suitable applicants to lead our school's Special Education Program (SEP) and support high-quality inclusive education practices.
As Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) at Calliope State School, you will work in partnership with school leaders, inclusion teachers, teachers, teacher aides, families and external agencies to ensure students with diverse learning needs are
supported to succeed.
This is a temporary full-time position to commence from 31 August 2026 until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
About us:
Calliope State School is located in the Central Queensland town of Calliope, approximately 25 minutes west of Gladstone. The school provides a Prep to Year 6 education and is part of a close-knit regional community, with easy access to the Gladstone region and surrounding natural attractions.
Your opportunity:
As the Head of Special Education Services, your key responsibilities include leading inclusive education processes and the inclusion team, coordinating reasonable adjustments and NCCD requirements, building staff capability, using student data to inform practice, managing resources and ensuring students receive targeted support to maximise engagement, wellbeing and learning outcomes.
